Meet The Team:
An Enthusiastic Bunch
Hello! We are the people working behind scene to bring you National Youth Camp 2024. We are stoked to see what work God has in store for His children at this next camp and cannot wait for a fantastic week! Hope to see you there :)
Camp Ministers & Families
Tristan Schiebaan
Hey Guys ‘n’ Gals! My name is Tristan, im 26 years old I’m an architectural draftee specialising in residential homes. This job keeps me indoors for most of the time but don’t let that fool ya, I love the outdoors! I’m a seasoned NYC veteran with 4 camps done and dusted! Lord willing, I will attend my final camp (NYC 2024), as a committee member. I have a long and lovely history with NYC and I can’t wait to enjoy yet another week of spiritually upbuilding communion with a huge mix-bag of fantastic people! I’m a heavy extravert who relishes an opportunity to chat, catch up and especially meet new people. If you happen to see me knockin’ about, don’t be shy please help me to get to know ya! I do however have to ask you to please go easy on me… I’m probably going to need to ask you what your name is more than once or twice. :P

Amber Eilander
Hey guys! I almost copy/pasted my intro from last camp, but here I am typing another just for you! I’m a primary school teacher which means I hang out with little kids all day, so I’m super stoked for NYC to hang out with you all instead! This is my second time in the committee, and unbelievably, my 6th National Youth Camp (I have a nice collection of camp shirts now). My favourite part of camp has to be CAMPS GOT TALENT! Every year I think it can’t get any better, but you keep proving me wrong. Keep those laughs coming! A little bit about me: I’m a cliche white girl who loves plants, traveling and her fur babies at home (but mine are guinea pigs rather than dogs). I can’t wait to see you all at camp! If you see me, come say hi. I love to chat!
Registrations & Logistics
Kate Numan
Hey all… my name is Kate and I’m super keen to be involved in my second camp as a committee member! NYC 2022 was such a blast that I couldn’t help signing up for more. This will actually be my fourth camp, and I’m so excited to see everyone being encouraged by our gifted speakers and ministers. And obviously, have awesome fun between all the speeches and workshops. A little bit about me… I’m a logistics officer with a love for trucks, trains, warehouses and anything that involves large scale process. I’m always keen for a road trip, so hit me up if you need someone to go with! The further north or remote, the better! I also love coffee, good company and the beach – in no particular order. Looking forward to hanging out with you all in 2024!

Vaughan Dekker
Greetings to you all. I'm Vaughan. I have a trade in fitter machining; appreciating it's practical and logical side of things and with regards to NYC; the committee looked like a step forward after attending 2 camps. It's a huge week for everyone and one of the best experiences you'll get, either for meeting new friends or spiritual growth. If you miss out, you truly have missed out!
In spare time you can find me working.. on my car, body or mind. At other times reading, podcasts, anime and video games will have me hiding away. I'm always up for a challenging conversation, some might call it an argument, that's their opinion. I look forward to a.. conversation and seeing you all at NYC 2024.

Raynor Bergsma
Hey all, my name is Raynor, but my friends(?) call me Randall or Raysnore. 3 assorted facts about myself: I grew up in Albany, I work as an engineer, and I can make seagull noises. Some things that I like to get up to outside of work include working on cars, playing and listening to music and catching up with old and new friends!
Camp is always such an awesome opportunity to meet new friends, create meaningful relationships in an amazing spiritually-charged atmosphere. Being a part of the organisation has been a ton of fun and I am pumped to hangout with you all at NYC 2024, see you there!

Jennelda Bron
Hey all! I’m Jennelda, the youngest member of the NYC ’24 committee. When I don’t have my head buried in a book, I like to pass the time by baking, hanging out with friends and photography (if you hadn’t already guessed). I’m studying occupational therapy at this point, but it’s my dream to see the world. That dream means that I have to work somewhere along the line, so I’m a swimming teacher by trade and I’ve recently gotten into working as a therapy assistant at an OT clinic.
I’m super stoked to be able to be behind the scenes organising this next camp alongside a group of fabulous people, and I’m hoping that it’ll be even more awesome than the first camp that I went to in 2022. My favourite part about NYC is the fact that I get to meet new people, and to do that centred around our great God is the best experience. Get keen!

Maree Dekker
Hey everyone,
I’m Maree, a part-time accountant and accounting student (I promise accounting is more interesting than you think)!
When I’m not working or studying, I love spending time at the beach, hanging out with friends and family (mainly my cute nieces and nephews) or curled up on the couch reading a good book.
I’m super keen to be part of the NYC2024 committee after going to two camps. It’s all already coming together and promising to be another amazing camp where you can catch up with old friends, make new ones, and grow in knowledge and love for God!
See you there!
Finance & Activities
Dylan Heerema
Hey people’s! I’m Dylan, part-time “too-many-things” (Studying Commerce at Uni, working in Finance, Army Reservist). When I’m not busy with these, I love spending time with friends, playing sports and getting outdoors (especially the beach)! I’ve been lucky enough to attend two previous national youth camps, and honestly guys it’s a no-brainer! If you want an incredible week of fun, friendship and spiritual learning that you won’t forget, NYC24 is for you. Can’t wait to see you there!

Jareth Spyker
Hey hey people, my name’s Jareth Spyker. I’m one of the NYC 2024 committee members, and I can’t wait for this camp to come around. We have a great team involved with planning this camp, so you guys can be sure that this camp will be awesome: at least as good as the past camps, maybe even better! Get excited now already for a great week where you can learn more about your awesome God! As a bonus, you’ll be hanging out and having a good time with all the folk at camp and making new friends.
Now a bit more about myself. I’m 24 years old, studying mechatronic engineering, and working part-time on submarine combat systems. I’ve been to 2 camps before, and really enjoyed them. I love hanging out with friends, playing sport and also playing board games. I look forward to catching you guys at NYC ‘24.

Lauren Vanderven
Hello friends! I’m Lauren, a part time NYC committee member and a full-time nurse at Perth Children’s Hospital. A couple of my favourite hobbies include spending 2+ hours driving to and from work every day and paying an obscene amount for f45 that I don’t go to as much as I should. Nah, I am just joking, I actually like doing fun things too. You’ll probably always catch me at the beach on my day off or meeting up with my pals for brunch (arguably the best and most important meal of the day). I am also a huge fan of carpool karaoke, much to the annoyance of my passengers haha! I’ve been to two ripper camps now, and have thoroughly enjoyed being behind the scenes, organising this next one. If you weren’t already planning on it, you have got to come! It is such an awesome week, meeting beautiful people and growing in your faith and love for God. See you all in 2024!
Workshops
Amy t'Hart
Hey everyone I’m Amy, your favourite NYC committee member! When I’m not busy being the workshop officer for this upcoming camp, then I’m generally busy lesson planning for my lovely students up in Dowerin. Yep, that’s where I live and work. How cool is that?
By day I’m a high school teacher, by night I’m a true crime/medical drama enthusiasts who loves knitting. Just imagine me sitting in front of a TV, knitting away watching one of my “rubbish shows” as my mum likes to call them. What a life!
Anyway, it’s my greatest pleasure to be on the NYC committee for the next upcoming camp and I can assure you that we’ve got a ripper camp planned. Make sure you book in as soon as you can because I promise you’ll have a blast!
Activities
Joseph Kim
Howdyy all, I’m Jo!
I’m a uni student and also do some cheeky high school relief teaching on the side! When I’m not slaving over some lectures, I love to play music and get around the beach. After my fair share of camps as a camper I was super keen to get amongst organising the activities for this year’s camp! Fave part about camp definitely has to be being able to worship with so many people, both in lil groups and as a whole camp! Looking forward to seeing ya’ll at camp!

Sam Fokkema
Yo, my friendlies! Round 2 baby lets go. I’m called Sam (just like half the population of the world) Fokkema (very unlike most of the population of the world).
When I had the opportunity to be on the committee again, I thought wowee here we go! It is such an honour to be part of Gods kingdom work creating a space for worship, praise, fellowship, and growth.
At the moment, I’m living. And usually that’s Capel or the surrounding areas! Often building houses (for work) and when I’m not working, I’m often building ships (the friend variety). Some things I like: floating under water (that feels cool), dropping in on a half-pipe (that feels exciting), thinking about Psalm 16 (that feels right).
Seeing you folks on camp amped up about Jesus really gets me going! And that’s what I’m keen for again, so seeya in 2024!
